Rent Chaser — Collect Overdue Rent

Rent Chaser automates the collection of overdue rent. Track outstanding payments, send automated reminders to tenants, and manage payment plans.

Getting Started

  1. View outstanding rent — The Rent Chaser dashboard shows all outstanding and overdue payments at a glance, organized by property and tenant.
  2. Send payment reminders — Click 'Send Reminder' to automatically email tenants about overdue rent. RentFig tracks which reminders have been sent.
  3. Update payment status — Log a payment as it's received. RentFig updates the outstanding amount and removes the overdue alert.
  4. Pause chasing — If a tenant has agreed an arrangement, you can pause chasing until a specified date without losing the debt record.
  5. Export rent reports — Generate reports showing rent collected, arrears, and payment trends for accounting or landlord reference.

Common Questions

Can I send reminders directly from RentFig?

Yes, click 'Send Reminder' on any overdue payment. RentFig will send an email to the tenant with details of the outstanding amount.

What if a tenant disputes a payment?

You can add notes to disputed payments and set up communication through the email module. RentFig maintains a full email history.

Is there a grace period before marking rent as overdue?

You can set payment due dates when creating tenancies. Rent is marked overdue once the due date passes.
