Financial Reports & Analytics

RentFig's Accounting section contains a full suite of financial reports — Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Rent Roll, and more. Generate, filter, and export them for your accountant or HMRC submission.

Getting Started

  1. Open a report — Go to Accounting in the sidebar and select the report you need: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, Cash Flow, Nominal Ledger, Aged Debtors, or Rent Roll.
  2. Set your date range — Choose a custom date range or pick a standard period (monthly, quarterly, annual) using the date filters at the top of each report.
  3. Switch accounting basis — Profit & Loss supports both cash basis and accrual basis. Select whichever matches your tax position using the toggle on the report.
  4. Filter by property or portfolio — Most reports let you drill down to a single property or compare across a portfolio to see where income and costs are concentrated.
  5. Export to PDF or Excel — Click the Export button on any report to download it. PDF is useful for sharing with your accountant; Excel lets you do further analysis.
  6. Year-end pack — Use Accounting → Year-End Pack to generate a bundled export of all key reports for a full financial year in one click.

Common Questions

Can I generate reports for a specific property?

Yes, all major reports have a property and portfolio filter. Select the property you want and the report recalculates automatically.

What is the difference between cash basis and accrual basis?

Cash basis records income and expenses when money changes hands. Accrual basis records them when they are earned or incurred. Most individual landlords use cash basis for self-assessment; limited companies typically use accrual.

Can I share reports with my accountant?

Yes, export any report as a PDF or Excel file and send it to your accountant. The Year-End Pack bundles all reports for a full tax year into a single download.
